Call for Applications: TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT 2016

Dear GYA Members & Alumni,

Thanks to a generous offer from Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) while at the IAP General Assembly in South Africa, we are inviting you to nominate you or other excellent young scientists in the fields of Life Sciences to attend BioVisionAlexandria 2016.

TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT 2016 (specifically for young scientists) will take place from 10-11 April 2016 and the BioVisionAlexandria 2016 conference will be held from 12-14 April 2016 at the BA, Alexandria, Egypt.
For more information please visit: http://www.bibalex.org/bva2016/home/home.aspx

Applicants can contact their senior academy or the GYA. If they want to be nominated by the GYA the should provide a CV and a draft letter of support (will be signed by the GYA) in Word format to [email protected] by 8 March 2016.

Criteria of Nomination:
· Applicants should not be older than 35 years of age (by 1 January 2016)
· Applicants should be Master’s, PhD students or Postdoctoral scholars working in the fields of Life Sciences.
· Applicants should have innovative research papers in one of the following fields:
o Agriculture
o Environment
o Food
o Health

The BioVisionAlexandria organizers are offering 10 fellowships to young scientists nominated by IAP member academies.

Candidates from industrialized countries will be expected to source their own travel funds, for example with support from their nominating academy.

IAP and BioVisionAlexandria will aim to provide partial travel support to candidates from developing countries.

We apologize for the short time-line, but this is a new offer that will add to IAP’s activities in favour of young scientists, which has received favourable comments both at the recent EC meeting and in the GA in South Africa.

Best regards,
Lukas
